From Cat on a Hot Tin Roof to Scarlett and the Pussycats: Tony winner Scarlett Johansson is starting a music group. On February 25, Johansson stopped by Live! with Kelly and Michael, and revealed she is in the process of working on an all-girl band called The One and Only Singles, according to Paste Magazine.
Although she is best known for her acting, Johansson recorded Anywhere I Lay My Head – a collection of Tom Waits covers – in 2006, and collaborated with Pete Yorn on the album Break Up in 2008. Her song "Before My Time," from the soundtrack of the documentary Chasing Ice, was also nominated for the Best Original Song trophy at the Oscars. "It's funny because I never thought I would be nominated for an Oscar next to Adele," Johansson told the hosts."That was very surprising to me."
In the meantime, Johansson’s fans can find her on Broadway, starring in the revival of Tennessee Wiliiams' Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, playing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre through March 30.
